In June, we launched the Bitybank card, born to facilitate the use of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies in everyday life. Bitybank + Pomelo: what is the Bitybank card?
The Bitybank card is the result of our partnership with Bitypreço and Biscoint, the first cryptocurrency marketplaces in Latin America, responsible for the largest trading volume among Brazilian exchanges in 2022. With it, Bitypreço and Biscoint customers now have, linked to the Bitybank cryptobank, their own credit card integrated into their wallets, offering a more versatile and complete user experience.
Among the advantages that this card powered by Pomelo brings to users are:
Pomelo is the issuer of the Bitybank card and provides the infrastructure behind it. This includes offering its external authoriser, through which each user can swipe their card by consuming their available balance in crypto, thus avoiding expensive and slow conversions. We are developing a number of new products that bring the crypto market together with traditional financial products, including a solution that allows users to leave collateral in bitcoin - giving more options for financing purchases.
As our Integration and Business Development teams tell us, the big difference in the process to launch this card was the quick integration - it only took 60 days! Bitybank had already launched a prepaid and had its own credit card project underway.
