PagBank (formerly PagSeguro) has announced the launch of a solution that turns mobile phones into card "machines". The functionality, called "Tap On", will allow merchants to accept payments using their Android smartphones.
According to the company, as a market differentiator, the solution will be integrated into an application with more than 40 business management functions, such as stock and cash control, creating payment links and issuing invoices and slips.
Integrated with the PagVendas application, "Tap On" allows credit and debit payments to be made by swiping (either physical cards, digital wallets or smart watches). The Elo, Mastercard, Visa and Amex brands and the Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay digital wallets are accepted. It will be made available to commercial establishments gradually.
The product is a trend in the payments industry. Companies such as Stone, Nubank, SumUp, Cielo, Mercado Pago and Gertec have already launched similar products.
On Tuesday (19), Apple announced the arrival of the "Tap to Pay" payment service in Brazil, allowing payments to be made by tapping the iPhone. According to the company, CloudWalk already offers the service in Brazil and it will soon be available to other accreditation companies.
In a statement, Angelo Aguilar, PagBank's executive director of Acquiring Products, said that the company had chosen to launch the solution only when it was fully complete for the entrepreneur.
"Our aim is to ensure that PagBank customers have more time to focus on sales by offering an easy and uncomplicated payment solution, directly on the mobile phone and integrated with an app, to manage all the other business processes, which today take up a lot of the entrepreneur's time," he says.
