The transaction establishes a payment of R$ 40 million (US$8.1M), with Experian also having the option to buy the remaining 49% until 2028.
Mova is the result of a partnership between the Omni group controllers and economist Roberto Tesch, the company's CEO. The startup offers a platform that operates on the Credit as a Service system, through which any company, individual or financial institution can create its own credit, financing and investment products. The fintech informs that it has already closed 35 thousand contracts and intermediated more than R$ 550 million in operations.
In announcing the deal, Esperian explained that MOVA's business model is highly complementary to Experian's existing Business-to-Business solutions, facilitating access to credit for SMEs.
MOVA's clients are served demands ranging from modules for the entire credit cycle, to just parts of the process such as credit engine or front-end infrastructure for faster integrations. The options offered are divided into third-party credit operations, credit analysis, collection services, and insurance distribution.
Last year, Serasa Experian bought the fintech PagueVeloz and, through the venture capital arm Experian Ventures, the group also invested in PayHop and the agtech Traive.
The purchase of MOVA is still subject to approval by regulatory authorities in Brazil.
