Belgian Credix, which connects international investors to emerging market fintechs seeking credit, has brokered a new investment in Adiante Recebíveis.
The funds will be used to finance credit operations, with a focus on anticipation of receivables for small and medium enterprises, which is Adiante's major focus. Founded in 2018, Adiante has said it wants to end this year having released R$500 million in credit origination. In the first half of the year alone, the amount totaled more than R$63 million.
Credix works like a platform for investing in startups, but instead of people buying up pieces of nascent businesses, it consists of big-name international investors providing funding to emerging market fintechs operating in the credit segment.
Credix itself selects the startups that will be able to take money, and investors can either fund some of the projects or make a "passive" check that irrigates all the listed startups. Money changes hands via "stablecoins," or cryptocurrencies tied to a currency like the dollar.
The platform started precisely for Brazil at the end of 2021.
